HOMETOWN: San Marino, CA United States

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL: Tulane University

MEDICAL SCHOOL: Louisiana State University Health Science Center – New Orleans

ABOUT ME: I’m originally from California but I’ve spent the past 13 years in Louisiana. And in my time I’ve picked up the best of both worlds. I love to hike, camp, play soccer, hydroponic garden, cook, read, listen to podcast and journal whenever I have free time. I come from a family of no medical experts and have been fortunate to travel to many countries so I have a huge passion for bringing medical knowledge and treatment to those who are less fortunate. I plan to utilize my training in pulmonary to one day establish a community center for respiratory disease and spend time doing with international work. But when it’s all said and done, I hope to have a chance to write my own book and improve mental health in healthcare.

ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHT:

  • Internal Medicine Residency at LSU Internal Medicine – Lafayette
  • Gold Humanism Student of the Month
  • Numerous publications with ATS, CHEST and ACP

WHY EISENHOWER HEALTH? An opportunity to get strong pulmonary training while also being in a community that truly values me as a physician and a person. During the interviews and in the days after match, I was greeted by several friendly members of the program who made me feel comfortable and ready to give it my all for two years.

ABOUT ME: I was born in India and moved to Houston, Texas with my family when I was 11 years old. I am the first and the only physician (so far) from both sides of the family. I love the journey that I have had to become a doctor and specifically a pulmonologist. My love of medicine started from a young age and there has been no greater desire in my life than to treat and serve others. My training has taken me from St Martin to Bakersfield to New York and now finally to the Palm Springs region.

WHY EISENHOWER HEALTH? The perfect mix of beautiful weather, intense pathology, and a patient population that needs support from the medical system.

HOMETOWN: Cupertino, California

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL: University of California, Davis, Biomedical Engineering

MEDICAL SCHOOL: St. George’s University, Grenada

ABOUT ME: I moved to the United States at the age of 13 with my family with the goal of working hard and making a better future for ourselves. My interest in medicine sparked after completing my engineering degree and working for a medical device company. While developing devices and treatment modalities are intellectually stimulating, observing how it impacts a person’s life is far more satisfying. Despite the countless hours sweat, blood, tears and dollars spent towards my training, I do not regret my decision to pursue medicine on bit. During my training as an internal medicine resident, I became interested in pulmonary and critical care medicine. From prescribing inhalers in the calm setting of a clinic to placing an emergent chest tube in the high-acuity intensive care unit, the wide array of patient care opportunities pushed me to pursue a career in this field. I am currently applying to critical care fellowships to complete my training as a pulmonary critical care trained physician.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and dog. I also enjoy playing video games and cooking in my free time.

ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHT: I have co-authored a number of academic articles that have been published in medical journals and have several more pending publication.

WHY EISENHOWER HEALTH? I had an amazing experience during my three years of residency at Eisenhower Medical Center, so I decided to stay for 2 additional years of pulmonary fellowship. What appeals to me most is the amount of support we get from the rest of the team (nurses, RTs, social workers, case manager, etc.) and the team mentality which ultimately benefits the patient. This kind of support from the staff allows me to focus on physician duties so we can provide the best quality of care for our patients. While some folks prefer the busy city life, I personally enjoy the relaxed, laid-back traffic free streets of the Coachella Valley.
