Multiple opportunities are available to participate in retrospective and prospective clinical investigations, as well as numerous case series and case presentation. Furthermore, Southern California has one of the most concentrated research communities in the nation with tons of collaboration in the scientific community between Eisenhower Health and other world-class research institutions just beyond our campus boundaries.
Our fellows are highly encouraged to present their work on the local, national or international stage. Attendance at various conferences throughout the year are strongly supported. GME funds are provided to each fellow to assist with the costs associated with travel and presentations.
Your fellowship includes at least four months of research.
Fellowships
Three fellowship positions are filled each year. The pulmonary fellows will be exposed to patients with a full spectrum of pulmonary disease, and faculty members will provide the training and supervision needed.

Message From Program Director
Welcome to the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program at Eisenhower Health!
We appreciate your interest in our fellowship, and we are excited to introduce you to a program that offers not only exceptional clinical training, but also a truly supportive and collegial environment in which to grow as a physician and leader.
The fellowship is three years, fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and currently accepts three incoming fellows per year.
Our fellows are at the heart of our program. We take pride in providing robust training in both pulmonary and critical care medicine, with particular emphasis on procedural skills and the management of complex, high-acuity pathology. Fellows gain hands-on experience in bronchoscopy (including EBUS and Robotic-assisted), chest tube placement, thoracentesis, bedside ultrasound, advanced airway management, and more. These skills are developed in real-world settings, supported by dedicated faculty who prioritize teaching and supervision.
Equally important is the breadth and depth of pathology our fellows encounter. From advanced interstitial lung diseases and extensive cancer pathologies to multi-organ failure and rare critical care syndromes, our diverse patient population offers an unparalleled clinical learning experience across multiple hospital settings, including high-volume ICUs and specialty pulmonary services.
What truly sets our program apart, however, is our culture. We believe that an outstanding educational experience depends on a strong, supportive community. We are deeply committed to the well-being of our fellows, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to thrive. Mentorship is woven into every aspect of training, and we are proud of the strong bonds between fellows and faculty that last well beyond graduation.
In addition, continuing your training in the beautiful Coachella Valley will give you an opportunity to experience desert living at it finest. Nestled between the mesmerizing San Jacinto Mountains and Joshua Tree National Park, the Coachella Valley is like no other place on earth. Culture abounds, with year-round events including the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Modernism Week, the BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, and the Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals.
If you are looking for a place where you will be challenged, supported, and inspired—we invite you to explore what our program has to offer.
